Event Description:

Come one, come all to the spookiest event of the season! This year's Halloween Fall Festival at Laurel Hills Community Center will be packed full of fun Halloween games, crafts, and activities for all.


Volunteer Duties:

You will be assigned an area upon your arrival. Duties will include assisting with games, activities, or arts and crafts.

Volunteer Impact:

Volunteers are assisting community center staff to help provide a family event for families in their community.

Work Environment:

This event will be held outdoors on Baseball Field #1. Restrooms will be available inside the community center during this event.

Volunteer Requirements:

All volunteers will be required to wear a mask and participate in a temperature check. The minimum age for this event is 15. Those under 16 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All volunteers will need to sign a release form. Those under 18 years of age will need a parent/guardian to sign their form.

Other Instructions:

Volunteers will be provided with all materials needed for this event. Volunteers may dress up in their own family-friendly costume to wear throughout the event. Volunteers should bring a water bottle, close-toed shoes, and wear clothing appropriate to the weather. Volunteers may be active during this event while assisting with games, activities, or arts and crafts.

COVID-19 Policy:

Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.


  • Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
  • Masks/face shields are required for all volunteers (masks not provided)
  • Volunteers must participate in an infrared temperature check
  • State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
  • If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not register
  • If you are volunteering indoors you will be required to show proof of full vaccination

Group Registration Information:

Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
