YNPNdc is hosting its fifth Mentorship Program from October 2021 to April 2022. Through the Mentorship Program, YNPNdc matches young professionals with seasoned professionals for one-to-one mentorship based on professional interest and goals.

In the Mentorship program, both mentees and mentors will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with leaders across D.C.’s social sector through networking events
  • Attend professional development workshops facilitated by YNPNdc
  • Join YNPN’s nationwide network of leaders across 42 cities
Mentor Eligibility:
  • Be community leaders with at least three years of professional experience in the social sector and at least seven years of professional experience.
  • Work in the metro Washington, D.C. area.
  • Provide ongoing support, feedback, and advice to promote mentee’s professional growth and achievement.
  • Be an active listener and enthusiastic about sharing your expertise and experience with mentee.
  • Spend at least one hour each month engaging with mentee through in person (or virtual) meetings, email, phone, and other methods as needed.
  • Attend YNPNdc Mentoring Program events (YNPNdc will host monthly virtual events for professional development and networking, approximately two hours per month).

YNPNdc is an independent, volunteer-led organization, affiliated with the National Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN), which includes chapters in more than 40 cities. We bring young professionals together through networking, professional development events, providing mentoring opportunities, and convene the sector. We envision a community of inspired professionals equipped to lead a diverse and evolving nonprofit sector in Greater Washington and beyond. YNPNdc members are inspired professionals who are interested in strengthening the greater Washington nonprofit sector through networking, professional development, and advocacy.
