We are adding to our team of mission-driven young people from all around the country to help participate in activism on many progressive/social justice issues including climate change, Black Lives Matter, ending gun violence, and voter turnout efforts.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to effect change in their community, refine their activist efforts, and meet other like-minded young people! Interns will collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on a weekly basis.Upon completion, interns are prepared to go forward being civically responsible and engaged activists.

About TurnUp Activism

Location:

35 WALDEN ST APT 3G, CAMBRIDGE, MA 02140, US

Mission Statement

We are a hub for activism and launched a mobile app and training program dedicated to transforming youth civic engagement, voter turnout and the progressive movement. We aim to continue contributing to youths’ professional development, creative potential, leadership ability, and social/emotional development, all while bolstering the resiliency of our democracy.

Description

TurnUp has embarked on a mission to build the most organized, active, competent, educated and powerful progressive youth-led grassroots activist network of young people. We are a collaborative workspace that believes in the power that young people can have when they are civically engaged. TurnUp worked with young people to reach over 36 million young voters in 2020. Youth turnout increased more than 10 points. We believe that everyone should be able to access their activist potential, and that communication creates power. We hope to make the world just, fair and equitable for all, by engaging young people in our democracy. We frequently collaborate with other progressive organizations and we have a diverse advisory board of nine experts: Bruno De Carvalho, Hon. Eileen C Donahoe, Adam Lavine, Jerry Michalski, Matt Mitchell, Nathaniel Pearlman, Justin Reich, Sonal Shah, & Christina Tzintzun Ramirez.
