Local Food Rabble Rouser Nonrprofit needs a fun, witty and compassionate Social Media Director to build our ability to teach the community the importance of a strong local food system and how to create a community that grows food together. Our current campaigns are on Facebook and Instagram....possibly other platforms.
You must have an interest in clean, healthy food with a particular focus on creating a strong local food system. We do events, install gardens in back yards, have a community garden and all sorts of dream projects that just need more folks to join in the fun. The best way to do that is getting word out about what folks like you can do to create a more healthy, sustainable, just, regenerative and resilient food system. This is a perfect position for someone who wants to combine their good palette with their excitement about connecting with people around it.
Outcomes we are shooting for:
Coordinate with the organization’s Director to develop a social media plan and campaigns for various platforms that’s consistent, fun and engaging.
Regular posting and engagement with commenters in an effort to build community;
Build our numbers of followers on both Facebook and Instagram
Work with graphic designer (or create simple graphics) to maintain our branding (we use Canva as our platform)
We also need help in other ways that could coordinate with this position like crowd funding campaigns, blogging and vlogging, if you are interested.
Build our email list via our social media channels
We seek someone who

Is dependable, creative and independent and works collaboratively and cooperatively.
Does what they say you will do in the time they say they will do it, and initiate conversations if they are unable to follow through

We are a group of folks who share your dreams of health and community
We have a shared vision that the way in which our food grows impacts us personally as well as the planet and all Life on earth. We value community and connection that fosters a sense of belonging and healthy real food security for all.
Our vision for Butte County is to create a strong local food system as the basis of a strong local economy, anchored in a healthy community that thrives on neighbors helping neighbors.
We are working from backyard gardens all the way to the whole Northstate to create more food security. This involves everything from informing folks on the importance of buying food from our local farmers, to growing food to policy work.
Our signature event, is the Garden BLITZ. We build up to 150 the Spring to create a community that grows food together. Our Eat Your Lawn program invites folks to turn their whole lawns into Permaculture Food Forests.
We do monthly educational meetups, Farm to Fork Feasts with some of our local growers, put on educational events, and have a Famers Marketmobile. We are also, in conjuction with community stakeholders, writing a Local Food Assessment, the final report will be available by Feb. 2022.
