Mission: Our mission is to combat hunger in Los Angeles by empowering individuals with access to healthy groceries. Through the establishment of a physical food pantry in Hollywood, we aim to provide ingredients that honor various cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences. By offering choice and dignity in food selection, we strive to nourish bodies and souls, fostering a community where everyone can thrive.

Volunteer Role & Responsibilities: The Social Media Manager would be responsible for maintaining a steady online presence and voice for LA Community Alliance on our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts, and would be comfortable reaching out to all levels of volunteers to generate content. The ideal candidate would be passionate about ending hunger and have an appreciation for the diverse communities we serve.

Responsibilities include:

Using Canva to design social media posts

Managing our social media accounts and engaging the public by commenting on posts, responding to questions, etc.

Creating and sending out weekly/monthly email newsletters

Brainstorming campaign ideas

Creating a social media content calendar

Writing and posting articles on your website

Recruiting other volunteers to collaborate with for content

Requirements: Passion for social media, supporting low-income individuals in attaining employment, and increasing our outreach. Self-starter comfortable reaching out to all levels of staff to generate content. 3-5 hours per week done remotely on an ongoing basis.
