Volunteers Plant Native Species

Join us for a very special planting event at Spring Lake Park Reserve! We will be planting a large volume of small lead plants in the prairie, which will provide excellent habitat for a number of important insects including Regal Fritillary, Monarch, Rusty Patched Bumble Bee, a federally endangered species, and Leadplant Flower Moth, a Minnesota Special Concern Species. We will provide materials, instructions, and an interpretive lesson about lead-plant and prairies along the Mississippi River. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes for this outdoor project. Bring water too! This event is great for participants of all ages with proper supervision. No experience required!
