Position Summary: Cancer Guides needs your help to develop and coordinate our volunteer activities. Your efforts will help us to populate, train, and retain a valuable pool of volunteers helping to achieve our mission.
Tasks:
* Coordinate recruiting efforts
* Help to maintain roster/contact information
* Assist in developing and delivering orientation, training, and appreciation opportunities
* Fills needs by connecting volunteers with open opportunities, based on input from Department Leads
Required Skills:
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google Drive
Desired Skills:
* Have previous volunteer experience
* Supervisory or HR experience is a plus
* Have great ideas of ways to show appreciation for volunteers, helping to retain great people
* Have a desire to make a positive impact by helping people
Location/Setting:
This opportunity is virtual/remote and on your own time.
Estimated Time Commitment:
Estimated 2 -3hours per week (all volunteer hours will be reported every month.)
Training and Supervision:
This position is accountable to the Executive Director but will have access to each department director. All volunteers will receive a Volunteer Handbook upon submission of the volunteer application.

We are a group of long-term cancer patients, medical professionals, social workers, philanthropists, researchers, and engineers who believe more can be done to make fighting cancer less scary, less frustrating, and less burdensome than it inherently already is.
