Become a Walk Day Volunteer

Each year we bring NAMIWalks to our community in Palm Beach County and we could not do it without our dedicated Walk day volunteers. Volunteers help with event set up, registration and check in, water stations, advocacy efforts, cheerleading and more! Raise awareness and bring your passion for the cause on Walk day.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Palm Beach County is an organization dedicated to providing support, education and advocacy with the goal to empower persons with mental illness and their families.

Description

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Palm Beach County is a non-profit volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing education, support, and advocacy with the goal to empower individuals living with mental illness and their families, and to eliminate the stigma associated with brain illness.

Our mission is to be the recognized leading organization for improving the quality of life and protecting the rights and interests of those affected by mental illness in Palm Beach County. Elimination of the stigma attached to mental illness is essential to achieve the goals of empowerment, social inclusion and recovery.

NAMI PBC provides support groups, information on resources, advocacy, and free educational programs, such as peer-to-peer or family-to-family programs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Orientation or Training
  • 2 hours for orientation and between 4 - 8 hours during the walk day (depending on what you sign up for). There are volunteer trainings to learn more about NAMI, the walk, and the roles/assignments. As a volunteer you will need to attend one session
