ORGANIZATION: Vets' Community Connections



Walk for the Fallen is a nonprofit that aims to honor American veterans while raising awareness about the struggles they often face after serving, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and suicide. These walks strive to celebrate the collective service of our military men and women -- and create a sense of community support around them.

Funds raised will support veterans with the goal of reducing PTSD and veteran suicide. Volunteers will help with set up, registration, and breakdown.

Walk for the Fallen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which specifically works to support American Legion Posts around the nation because they serve as the essential bridge between veterans and mental health resources from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).

Over the course of this pandemic many local programs have exhausted their pool of volunteers. Volunteer in the Community, in partnership with HandsOn San Diego, works to promote volunteer needs to the wider community knowing that our civilian and veteran populations welcome avenues to offer their support.
