ORGANIZATION: Parents Helping Parents

NewLogoSM

Our Parental Stress Line is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and it is confidential and anonymous.

Description:

PHP is seeking volunteer counselors to offer support and act as a listening ear for parents in crisis. This position is remote and requires the ability to work comfortably with smartphone applications.

You do not need to be an expert in parenting to help on the Parental Stress Line. You will need to be a good listener and be able to work across differences in race, class, and culture of group members. You must complete a six-hour virtual training on crisis intervention and basic counseling techniques. We also offer monthly topic training.

Once training is complete, calls may be taken at home or on a personal cell phone.

Volunteers pick their 4-hour shifts to fit their weekly availability.
