Promedica Hospice is seeking volunteers who are willing to share their musical talents with hospice patients, to enrich their final days of life. Music provides a variety of benefits for patients who are terminally ill and often experiencing isolation and memory loss. Volunteers will sing or play instruments at the bedside of patients to provide comfort to the patients and their families.

Volunteers will complete an orientation and be assigned to patients based on patient need and volunteer availability.

Description

Heartland Hospice provides care to people who have a life-limiting illness of 6 months or less. Services include a team approach to care provided by Registered Nurses, Physicians, Chaplains, Social Workers, Certified Nursing Assistants, Volunteers and Bereavement Counselors. Services are provided in Skilled Nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and private residences in the greater Philadelphia area.

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Volunteers are asked for approximately 4 hours per month upon completing orientation
  • TB Test (two step), Background Check (record must be clear), Orientation. Volunteers will need transportation to facilities or homes.
