Social Media Coordinator

The mission of The Freedom Memorial is to promote the legacy of Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King through education and outreach. Our growing nonprofit is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about civil rights, equality, and empowerment. We are interested in welcoming interested volunteers who can commit to driving our message forward online and in-person. We are based in Allentown, PA however we are willing to expand our team nationwide.

All volunteers are expected to abide by and fulfill The Freedom Memorial vision and mission. Volunteers are to act in accordance with the expectations and policies of The Freedom Memorial .

Responsibilities: Researching audience preferences and discovering current trends. Creating engaging text, image and video content. Designing posts to engage and sustain readers as well as attract new members and contributors. Develop an optimal posting schedule, oversee social media accounts’ layout. Suggest new ways to attract new members and contributors. We will provide all social media volunteers with training compliments of The Nonprofit Makeover. The Social Media Coordinator must have experience with managing social media profiles and also must be comfortable managing a small team of social media volunteers. This position will be responsible for growing the social media team and managing all platforms owned by the nonprofit.

Time commitment: Part-time, up to 10 hours per week. Hours are flexible but we do ask for a consistent schedule.

Skills:

• Experience with business style postings on social media platforms
• Understand social media analytics preferred
• One or more years experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role
• Exceptional at communications and building relationships
• Critical thinker and problem-solver
• Organized and self motivated
