Join our team of Northland volunteers who help deliver exciting and fun sports and recreation programs for youth and adults with disabilities. All programs are supervised by a staff member and delivered with the help of our volunteers - the typical ratio is one volunteer to one participant.

Opportunities throughout the year! We are always welcoming new volunteers, and once you are onboarded, you can volunteer in any of our programs!

EVENTS:

  • Arrowhead Youth Games at UMD, 80-100 volunteers (May)
  • Adaptive Fishing Tournament (June), 25-30 volunteers
  • Shoot for Fun fundraising event - sporting clay event with over 500 participants and 150 volunteers (Sept)
  • Great Lake Mono Ski & Race Camp, 60 volunteers (three days in late Feb/early March)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 16
  • Orientation or Training
  • 1-3 hours/week for 6-8 weeks, during the selected program. Most programs are held weekday evenings. On-site training and orientation takes place before program starts.
  • All volunteers must complete an onboarding process which includes a background check, general online orientation, on-site orientation (program specific). As of 9/1/21, all volunteers must provide verification of COVID-19 vaccination.
