Mission statement: Benevolent Kicks is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists
to provide NEW shoes to disadvantaged and impoverished school-age children
in Wake and surrounding NC areas and educates the community on this need.
We believe NEW shoes support kids' health, education, and opportunity -and
give them dignity, hope, and joy!

Our Benevolent Kicks shoe program needs your help. We are in need of your
help to continue with our mission to alleviate shoe deprivation among
elementary school-aged students (pre-k - 12th grades).

We have the following vacancy for immediate occupancy

Treasurer:

The treasurer is a nonprofit organization’s top financial officer. Partnering with the board chairman and executive director, she/he develops and administers the annual budget. She/he also creates policies and best practices surrounding the organization's financial management procedures. Nonprofit are given special tax treatment by the government. As a result, it is important for treasurer to remain current on regulations to ensure the organization's legal compliance.

Associate Board Member (2)

Brings a wealth of knowledge in any of the following areas: grant writing, finance and accounting, IT and website support, real estate, building/contracting, engineering, social media/marketing/web design, administrative/clerical, (power-point/excel), and overall good ideas and feedback. Must be sincere, patient and eager to share information beneficial to Benevolent Kicks mission/purpose/ goals and objectives towards long term growth and sustainability of the organization.

Event Volunteers

We host a number of shoe events every year, such as, shoe distributions, blood drives, and shoe fundraisers to provide NEW shoes to disadvantaged children. We require three to four volunteers to pass out flyers, athletic shoes, shop for shoes, and share information about 50,000 students in need of shoes in Wake County. In addition, there are 1 million students in North Carolina who are in need of shoes.

Description

A new pair of shoes can be a life altering event for a child. Self-esteem, academic achievement, and behavior improves. Smiles return and physical activity increases. A good pair of shoes is essential to healthy growth and development. Once this need is met, the child regains the confidence needed to thrive. Our vision is that, one day, every child (in America) who needs NEW shoes will have them, which allows all children to reach their fullest potential.
