Role brief :

We’re seeking a social media manager to grow our followers, engage and retain them. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our social media profiles and presence including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram.
  • Plan and post content according to our marketing calendar
  • Post content to social media platforms
  • Distribute shareable content appropriate for specific networks to both spread our brand and our content and links.
  • Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our organization and/or industry, both from existing followers and leads and from brand new audiences that don’t yet know us.
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success, as well as the content and links posted through these and other channels.
  • Collaborate alongside other marketers and content producers to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience.
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence.
  • Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach our target donors.
  • Increase the number of followers and engagement with social media profiles
  • Measure and analyze effectiveness of engagement strategy
  • Suggest opportunities for growing community and engagement
  • Attend a weekly meeting with the marketing team over the phone to provide updates
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with influencers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Advertising or Marketing background preferred or at least 2 years professional experience that can substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in content distribution preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage distribution of content (Samples needed)
  • Proficient with Social Media guidelines and regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 volunteer hours per week
  • Must be responsive to all messages within 24 hours
  • Excellent time management & communication skills in English; follow up and follow through approach
  • Native fluency in spoken and written English
  • Highly collaborative style; experience working in a virtual environment highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Suite Apps such as Drive, Sheets, etc. and familiarity with Trello & Slack
  • Enjoys creating & implementing initiatives
  • Reliable internet connection a must
  • Detail-oriented, organized, consistently communicates, and deadline-driven
  • Motivated self starter and entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience or knowledge working in a Non-profit or social issues preferred.
  • Professional Demeanor at all times as a virtual non-paid volunteer
