The Social Media Content Creator is a virtual volunteer position that works directly with the Marketing Team. The Content Creator will be responsible for creating strong content (both through writing copy and selecting/editing images and graphics) and have an ability to drive community growth and engagement to support our nonprofit organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan a monthly content calendar for 2-3 posts each week
  • Create content for 2-3 posts per week, which will include writing engaging copy and selecting an image from an image bank to edit
  • Determine sources for content creation
  • Attend a weekly meeting with the marketing team to provide updates

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in social media content creation preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in English, advertising, journalism or marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful social media content
  • Clear, precise and compelling writing skills
  • Proficient with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, and Instagram
  • Please include samples of social media work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 volunteer hours per week
  • PMs Minimum volunteer hours 10 hrs per week for at least 6 months
  • Must be responsive to all messages within 24 hours
  • Excellent time management & communication skills in English; follow up and follow through approach
  • Native fluency in spoken and written English
  • Highly collaborative style; experience working in a virtual environment highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Suite Apps such as Drive, Sheets, etc. and familiarity with Trello & Slack
  • Enjoys creating & implementing initiatives
  • Reliable internet connection a must
  • Detail-oriented, organized, consistently communicates, and deadline-driven
  • Motivated self starter and entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience or knowledge working in a Non-profit or social issues preferred.
  • Professional Demeanor at all times as a virtual non-paid volunteer
