Mission Statement

It is the mission of Riverside Academy to provide all students with a content-rich, academically challenging education with a well-defined, sequential curriculum in a safe, orderly, disciplined environment. Riverside students will learn to express themselves and utilize 21st century computer technology to support learning in all major subjects. Riverside is committed to providing a free appropriate, and socially responsible educational program. By equipping our young people with essential knowledge and skills, Riverside will be helping to fulfill dreams and motivate students to become whatever they so choose.

Description

Riverside Academy is a tuition-free, community school of choice for grades K-8. Our rigorous academic program exceeds Ohio state standards to prepare students for college and career. We observe an extended school day and extended school year. We exceed the 920 hours per school year required by the Ohio Department of Education in order to maximize learning time.

We are our own school district sponsored by the Ohio Council of Community Schools (OCCS) which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability. We are managed by ACCEL Schools, a high performing network of over 50 charter schools located throughout the United States.
