Make Homemade Hand Warmers/Neck Wraps for our Youth Shelter
ORGANIZATION: Pathfinders

The need for self-care is at an all-time high. Stress and trauma can physically manifest in the body and warm neck wraps can help provide comfort and relax tense muscles. As an agency that supports regular self-care practice among our staff, we also seek to support youth in creating these practices for themselves.
About the Youth Shelter: Pathfinders’ Youth Shelter is open 365 days a year and provides emergency short-term shelter for adolescents ages 11-17. We also offer crisis counseling services for youth aged 18-21. We operate one of only two state-licensed youth shelters serving Milwaukee, representing half of the available beds in the city for youth. During and after their Shelter stay, we offer youth intensive counseling, case management, and basic needs services that help them maintain safety and stability.
That's why we are calling all willing crafters and sewers to help make homemade hand warmers or neck wraps for shelter youth! These warmers and wraps are often filled with dried beans or dried rice and dried herbs or essential oils to be used indoors.

Any style and design are welcome and you can complete these hand/neck warmers the comfort of your own home! We do ask that materials be purchased/provided by volunteer(s).
If interested in assisting, please respond to this post and our Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager will reach out to coordinate.
