We are a new, small organization dedicated to providing resources for psychiatric/mental health patients to self advocate, train psychiatric providers in patient advocacy and patient rights, and conduct research related to psychiatric patient advocacy. Description

Beyond Medicine-Patient Advocacy is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California that seeks to provide health literate (meaning easy to understand) resources to help mental health patients self advocate. We provide trainings for medical providers so we can create change from both directions: patient self advocacy and providers understanding psychiatric patient rights. We also produce evidence-based research to support the role of patient advocacy and to use patient advocacy within health policy to protect patients.
