We are looking for a volunteer who really enjoys sorting and organizing. They should be extremely organized and focused. We receive a wide variety of items in donation that are often given to us mixed up in boxes or bags.
This volunteer will sort donated items into the various categories for the Teacher Resource Center, i.e. office supplies, school supplies, STEAM items, etc. This process is tedious but is also one of the more important things we do here so we can make these items available to the teachers.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to ensure that all students, from pre-k through high school, have the basic supplies and creative tools for literacy, STEAM, and health education through the environmentally-conscious distribution of donated supplies.
Description
3Rs is in its 27th year of helping Maine schools. 3Rs' main program is a resource center where teachers can pick up supplies for their classrooms at no cost to the individual teacher. We distribute $3 million worth of materials to teachers annually. We also pack several thousand backpacks with new school supplies each August and distribute them to needy students throughout Maine. Our Computer Re-Life program takes in donated computers, laptops and related technology from businesses and makes it available to schools and non-profits for a small handling fee. Finally, after reusing and repurposing as many donation as we can, we recycle to the greatest extent possible, throwing items in the trash only as a last resort.

- Must be at least 18
- Minimum 2 hour shifts. Volunteers are welcome Tue.-Thur. from 10:00-5:00 and Fri. from 10:00-4:00.
- Close-toed shoes are required for safety reasons. We recommend comfortable shoes, such as sneakers. We also recommend dressing in layers as the warehouse can be chilly for most of the year.
