Let's *Bake* a difference!
Calling all Bakers. Do you like to bake? Where there’s a whisk there’s a way!
Baking can be a great opportunity to connect with our Residents.
Who doesn’t love the smell of cookies in the oven? Bake in our kitchenette and have Residents watch and enjoy the interaction. We have some very simple recipes or you can do your own recipes. The Ingredients will be provided by us. The smell of something baking in the oven evokes a sense of security, comfort, and family. It turns out that our sense of smell does much more than help to identify an object; it actually triggers emotional responses and subsequent behaviors. Memory is the receptacle for all we sense, and smells have a strong and potent relationship with the things we remember. Nothing says home like the smell of baking.
This is a great opportunity for anyone that enjoys baking, is retired, or has time during the day, and wants to give back to the senior community.
Must follow current COVID infection prevention guidelines, and must wear a mask.
