1) Create a list of supply items needed for the upcoming season and submit to the Communications Committee for posting on the Warming Center media platforms.


2) Answer and act on emails received from the Communications committee (Monica has recently mentioned creating a separate email address just for donors to use to contact the Goods, Needs & Services committee)


3) Contact donors and setup date, time and location to accept donations (Possibly setup one day on month on a weekend to accept donations over a few hours to lessen the meeting of donors during the week) Also, donations can be dropped off on Thursday evenings at St. Patrick’s church basement while the Outreach and Engagement service is open.


4) Notify Communications committee (Roz) of items received, donors contact information and request Thank you letter be sent


5) Inspect, sort and organize donated items

  1. a) Inspect for dirt, stains, pet hairs, mold and odors... Discard soiled items

  1. b) Check for Expiration dates on food items.... Circling dates help keep track of items handled

  1. c) Sort items the WC will use and those to be distributed to other organizations...Arrange for drop off or pickup of items with the organization

  1. d) Organize items kept on shelves or in storage containers by category for ease of use

6) Keep track of Inventory.....Notify when an item needs to be replenished


7) At end of season distribute all food items that will expire before needed again, box, store and make an inventory list of all non-food items in preparation of the next season.


8) Submit monthly Committee Report for Board of Directors meeting held usually the first Monday of the month.
