Tohono Chul is a beautiful 49-acre botanical garden located right in the middle of Tucson! There are three museum retail shops and two of them are looking for new volunteers!
La Fuente is a fun, fast-paced shop that is located next to the Garden Bistro. Many guests come to browse after eating a delicious lunch! It is filled with paintings, ceramics, art, books and fun gifts for kids! Volunteers interact with the public in a retail setting, assisting staff with duties including Point of Sale (POS) cash registers, stocking, cleaning and displaying merchandise. Since this shop will be quite busy, customer service experience and cash handling are huge pluses!
If you love being around plants and plant-related merchandise, then maybe La Entrada is the shop for you! This shop is located next to admissions and our retail greenhouse. This shop carries fun outdoor art, books and field guides and outdoor clothing items, such as hats. Extensive plant knowledge is not necessary, as you will not be expected to advise guests about plant purchases. However, it is a great way to learn more about the native species we carry in the retail greenhouse! Some lifting of plants to assist customers might be required. It can get busy in La Entrada, so volunteers should feel comfortable in a busy shop. Volunteers should be able to learn and use the POS system to ring up purchases. Customer service and cash handling is recommended to be a successful volunteer here!
Tohono Chul depends upon the Museum Shops and memberships to support its operation so sales of memberships is encouraged.
On-the-job training is provided by the Director of Retail. Volunteers in the shops will be supervised by retail staff, including the Director of Retail and Assistant Manager. This is an active volunteer position, where sitting is at a minimum.
The shops are open daily from 9am to 5pm. Available shifts include 9am-1pm, 11am-3pm and 1-5pm. The dress code is business casual.

Description
Located in urban Tucson, Tohono Chul boasts beautiful desert plants and vegetation, a cultural art gallery and delightful museum shops. Visitors can stroll and visit the numerous themed gardens, like the streamside or hummingbird gardens, or take a nature trail to explore the desert. Also offered at the park are guided tours, workshops, concerts and special events. Volunteers and docents are the backbone of Tohono Chul, assisting in almost every aspect of the park and its programs.

- We are looking for volunteers who would like an ongoing, weekly shift. However, volunteers can be trained as substitutes to be able to cover available shifts if an ongoing shift is not feasible.
