If you love to bring smiles to kids faces, we'd love to talk to you! We're looking for volunteers who are passionate about making a difference and want to help kids feel like "a kid again". We focus on involving the entire family to improve their well-being and strengthen their support network by offering on-going Adventures and activities year-round (about once a month).
We are specifically looking for volunteers interested in representing A Kid Again at various community events in order to:
-spread awareness about who we are and what we do by providing AKA information/materials to attendees
-connect with families who may qualify for our programs and encourage them to enroll
-interact and chat with others at these events to further the mission of A Kid Again
These volunteers may be called upon directly when event opportunities arise and/or for when our staff is unable to attend. This may include days, evenings, and/or weekends, but are not on a regular, time-consuming basis. We will provide you with materials and orientation to feel comfortable with the basics about A Kid Again.
The majority of community events have occurred in central Indiana, however we are also looking for help to identify other events around the state at which we should have a presence.
This volunteer role may also help in finding avenues to enroll new families around the state so they too can enjoy Adventures. This could be through healthcare and other organizational outreach/connections, social or business networks, and other opportunities to reach families who have a child with a life-threatening condition.
Volunteers must pass a background check and will be asked to register in our volunteer system.

Description
Who We Are:
For twenty plus years, A Kid Again has helped to restore a sense of normal for families thrust into the situation of having to care for a child with a life-threatening illness. Often these families are unprepared and unequipped to deal with what follows. A Kid Again hosts year-round events to support these families and provide them with memories that will last a lifetime.
Why We Do It:
A Kid Again is specifically designed to involve the entire family (not just the child who is ill) to improve the wellbeing of everyone affected by the situation. The families who participate in A Kid Again give back as much as they receive by connecting with each other and sharing their own stories of strength and encouragement.
What We Do:
Year 'round fun-filled adventures that allow children with life-threatening illnesses to feel like A Kid Again. Unlike other "wish" organizations, A Kid Again works to create a communal and interactive environment. Our program establishes ongoing, nurturing experiences that complement but do not overtake their day-to-day living.
How We Do It:
We accomplish this mission through the dedication of our volunteer network and the generosity of our donors. We strive to go beyond activities, providing comprehensive, practical support to help families cope with the extended effects of life threatening illnesses.
