Join Sanctuary Hospice in our Loop office. We need volunteers to make phone calls for our frontline nurses. You will be calling patients to see if they have all the equipment, medications, supplies, and emotional support that they will need to get them through the weekend comfortably at home. I will then report any needs to the respective nurse so they can deliver what is needed to their patient(s).
I will orientate you, provide you with a script and log sheet. Ideally this person would volunteer once a week (Thursday or Friday) for a couple hours. Hopefully can commit long term.
Sometimes patients or family members feel anxious going into the weekend if they decided to receive hospice care at home, so we want to alleviate that worrisome and alleviate the time consuming calls for our nurses that are traveling to and from homes.
