ORGANIZATION: Conversations To Remember

Conversations to Remember is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization the arranges for residents in senior living communities to have virtual video visits with college and high school students. We are looking for adult volunteers who will reach out to senior living communities (Assisted living communities, long- term care facilities, nursing homes, etc.) to introduce them to Conversations to Remember, and find out if our volunteers can help their residents.

We will assist the volunteer by providing a list of senior living communities (although, they are welcome to generate their own), and detailed information about our program and the program requirements. We'll rely on the volunteer to reach out to the communities, maintain tracking details, and follow up with the communities as they move towards joining the program.

Connecting high school and college students with residents in assisted living communities to combat the epidemic of loneliness. Putting a smile on the faces of seniors, including those experiencing cognitive decline, creating a bridge between seniors and youth.

Description

High School & College Students: Once a week 2 or 3 students engage in a video call with a senior citizen who is in an assisted living facility. Most of the residents that we are working with have some form of cognitive decline. The calls last about an hour, and we have 2 or 3 students doing it together. During the virtual visit, students don't have to be physically together, they can each be on their own device.
