Are you a college/grad student looking for healthcare opportunities? You must be 18 for in-clinic roles. Do you need to build patient service skills? Are you looking for options where you can be part of a care team, or to give back to the kidney community? Together, we can make life better for those living with kidney disease.
Become a Greeter today! Greeters connect with patients, screen for COVID, physically assist patient with their bags or to their treatment chair, and boost communication through the Center. Volunteers answer questions about treatment schedule times, alerting a staff person that a patient has a particular question, interact with transport partners, provide a listening ear to patients while they wait in the lobby.
When you engage as a Greeter, staff can concentrate on the clinical needs they are uniquely trained to do. Together, we are a better team, more able to address patient concerns during our busiest times.
If you are interested in gaining skills in customer service, are thinking about a career in healthcare or dialysis, or just want to work with a team to assist a kidney patient, this opportunity is for you!

Description
Satellite: A simple idea that changed the way people received treatment.
In the 1960s and early 1970s, people living on dialysis often traveled great distances, three times a week, to a regional medical center for their life-sustaining treatments.
Dr. Norm Coplon, Satellite Healthcare’s founder, believed it was possible to offer individualized dialysis care in a friendlier, more comfortable environment, closer to where people lived.
With just six patients, the first Satellite dialysis center opened March 1 st, 1974. The little center, tucked away in a quiet San José, California neighborhood, was the start of a collaborative, energetic spirit that spurred a series of innovations and opportunities.
Today, Satellite Healthcare has more than 2,800 employees caring for about 8,300 patients. Our 80+ centers are located in five states - California, Texas, Tennessee, New Jersey, and Hawaii.
As we celebrate our past, we look to what the future holds and to the many more lives we’ll be able to touch with high-quality, individualized kidney care.

- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- We ask for a 6-month commitment overall, and on a monthly basis that you serve at least 2 shifts of 2 hour duration.
- Starting 9/30/21 all volunteers must have their COVID vaccination to serve in a dialysis clinic. Influenza vaccinations are required during flu season. A criminal background check and a drug test is required (Satellite will pay for both).
