ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross

Provide assistance with tasks in a clinical setting. Support staff in a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities as well as enhance the morale of patients. This position is located at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. Be competent in collecting blood specimens from patients from all age ranges: infants, children, adults, geriatrics. It is a small lab and due to social distancing/health precautions the volunteer may be collecting about 10-20 patients during duty hours. The member understands the safety procedures and certain requirements when handling all patient specimens and enforces the importance of PPE.


Qualification
Be certified as a Phlebotomist through an approved and licensed school.
Additional security and health clearances may be required by medical treatment facilities in compliance with government regulations (including military background and immunizations requirement.
