Help elementary students learn today’s new math using scripted materials and one-on-one tutoring.

As a volunteer, you will tutor one child in grades first through eighth who is significantly below grade level. You would meet with your learner twice a week for an hour each time. All materials are scripted and provided to the volunteer free of charge. Volunteering also includes six hours of training!

COVID-19 disrupted education delivery across the country. The demand for math tutors is higher than ever.

About The Legacy Center for Community Success

Location:

3200 James Savage Road, Suite 5, Midland, MI 48642, US

Mission Statement

We provide evidence-based learning and developmental strategies in collaboration with other organizations to help individuals reach their full potential.

Description

The Legacy Center for Community Success (TLC) was formed in 2004 by Dr. Richard Dolinski to identify outside-the-classroom barriers to education and collaborate with other organizations to provide interventions that allow all children, youth and families to flourish and thrive. TLC has four organizational units:

  • Literacy Services (formerly the Literacy Council of Midland County)
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Youth Development
  • Families

Additionally, one of TLC’s core competencies is the evaluation of program outcomes. Outcomes-based program evaluations provide multiple benefits, including a determination of whether and to what extent a program is effective in achieving its objectives.
