ORGANIZATION: FRIENDS FOR LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE

  • 4 people are interested

Our rescue is looking for the help of a trainer to work with dogs who have issues and can't be placed at homes or dogs that have been adopted and need some help to stay with their owners and preventing them from being dumped in shelters, where the future of these dogs in not good.

We are a foster-based rescue in NJ and PA. We don't have a facility or specific location.
It depends on the area the dog is being fostered.

Description

We are a group of rescuers who worked in a previous rescue where things weren't done the way we believe a rescue should be managed or the way animals should be treated. We started our rescue with the belief that we can help not only animals who are already in the shelter but also those in our community who the owners don't want anymore or can't care for and prevent them from going to the shelter.
Many times these animals are older and have health problems. We take them into fosters homes treat them and find them a loving place to enjoy the time left for them.
In a few months, we already saved close to 100 dogs and cats. With more funds and foster homes, we can help many more.
Our goal is to get as many animals as possible in need to a safe place.

We also working on a program to help senior people to adopt older/senior dogs. That will benefit the humans, who many times can't adopt because of their age, and the dogs who are harder to place because of their age.

We are hoping to have a vet who will help us reduce the high vet costs we have and a trainer for those who have behavioral issues and can't be placed in a home. If these dogs find themselves in the shelter, many times they won't have a future.
