ORGANIZATION: Denver Rescue Mission

We need your assistance! We currently have a need for long-term volunteers in the following areas for immediate placement: Youth Program Volunteers, Youth & Chikd Mentors, Youth General Education Tutors, Adult GED Tutors, Computer Skills Class Facilitators, Clothing Room Volunteers, Administrative Volunteers, Pizza Farm Tour Guides.

Our long-term volunteer opportunities are available at all five of the mission's facilities - including the Harvest Farm in Wellington/Ft. Collins, CO. We do ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months from our long term volunteers, and a 6 month commitment from our mentors. Volunteer shifts available range from mornings to afternoon, evenings and weekend. If you think you may be interested in volunteering with us on a long term basis, we would need to have you fill out a volunteer application, review our statement of faith, and agree to a background check. Once you have completed the application, we will schedule an interview with you to learn a little more about you and what you're interested in assisting with. This helps us to place you in a volunteer position that you will enjoy. If this is something you think you would be interested in, please email jgeppelt@denrescue.org .

About Denver Rescue Mission

Location:

6090 Smith Rd, Denver, CO 80216, US

Mission Statement

Denver Rescue Mission is changing lives in the name of Christ by meeting people at their physical and spiritual points of need with the goal of returning them to society as productive self-sufficient citizens.

Description

Founded in 1892, Denver Rescue Mission is the oldest full-service Christian charity serving the poor and needy in the Rocky Mountain region.

Lawrence Street Shelter is our most recognizable location because of the neon "Jesus Saves" sign on the corner of the building. Services at this location include shelter (up to 315 men nightly), medical services and relational and emotional support for those experiencing homelessness.

The Crossing provides a long-term New Life Program location for men; the STAR Transitional Program for homeless families and single men and women with children; and temporary housing for New Life Program graduates, interns and visitors.
