Fundraising Opportunity
Sign up for free and help raise funds and awareness as we walk together from home to end hunger on the Westside. Tune in on Sunday, October 17 th for a live streamed opening program with special guests and helpful tips. Then you’ll have a week to complete your 5K and continue fundraising to help us reach our $100,000 goal. Join us on 10/24 for a closing livestream where we’ll give out awards for top fundraisers and biggest teams, and celebrate our accomplishments together.
Westside Food Bank provides food for over 200000 people in West L.A. County every year - we’ve doubled our food purchases since COVID-19 to keep up with the high demand. With your help, we can make this year's 5K Hunger Walk our biggest success yet!
Walk individually or as part of a group. Fundraising is not required, but every dollar you raise provides four meals for our neighbors in need. Mission Statement
Westside Food Bank's mission is to provide as much nutritious food as possible to local agencies with food assistance programs and to reduce food waste in Western Los Angeles County.
Description
Since 1981, Westside Food Bank has provided food to local social service agencies serving low-income individuals and families.
We currently supply more than 70 agencies with a balanced variety of nutritious foods. Our member agencies come to our warehouse to pick up weekly food allotments, and/or receive food delivered from our Extra Helpings Westside prepared and perishable food rescue program. Our food reaches over 105,000 unduplicated individuals each year.
