Here at Siloam Church International, we are joining the fight with Comcast and The Crossfire Movement to close the digital divide in our community. T he Covid-19 crisis has put many of our students at risk of being left behind and accelerated the need for digital equity.
The Finish Strong Learning Pod after-school program is intended to help those students who are unable to connect to distance learning at home, or who just want another place in which to study in a safe space. The Finish Strong Learning Pod will provide free hotspots connectivity / laptops and hours of educational and digital skills to low-income families .
We need volunteers to support the afterschool program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Shifts are available.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
* Maintaining general cleanliness, safety and security of an assigned room * Check ing equipment in and out for assigned room and return ing to the Program Manager * Monitor ing student s on devices * Enfor cing procedures for the use of the Learning Pod and the use of equipment, supplies, materials, software, hardware and peripherals * Assist ing students with homework as neededAll volunteers must be 17 years or older.
3 Shifts
- afternoon / 02:30 PM to 04:45 PM
- afternoon / 02:30 PM to 04:45 PM
- evening / 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM
