We will be planting trees in residential areas around the city of Wyoming. There are 10 different locations to assist in planting a tree within Wyoming city limits. The ability to drive to different locations is required. Bring your own gloves, shovel, and garden rake. This project's focus is to improve air quality, support biodiversity and enhance the quality of life for the community by increasing the size of the tree canopy.

About GREATER WYOMING COMMUNITY RESOURCE ALLIANCE

Location:

PO BOX 905, WYOMING, MI 49509, US

Mission Statement

The Master Plan calls for a more rigorous tree survey to be done in the future. Having a comprehensive survey will provide the City with data needed to plan not only where to plant more trees, but also how to develop a maintenance plan that preserves the mature trees already growing here. The survey will also provide data on the economic value that Wyoming’s trees provide when it comes to storm water retention, pavement life, energy savings, reducing carbon footprint, and removing toxins from the air.

Description

Our goal is to increase the tree canopy in the city of Wyoming, to increase health of citizens, reducing energy usage, improving air quality, improve storm water management and improve quality of life. Our current tree canopy is 13.5% and our goal is to increase it to 40%. Creating a safer and healthier community.
We have currently planted over 100 trees in parkways and parks.
Established the Beverly Bryan fruit tree orchard at West Elementary.
