Fraternal Service Coordinator

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

My husband Luis and I created SoulPhamm, a sports and arts program for kids in New York and New Jersey. The goal of SoulPhamm is to create engaging and unique competitive and performing experiences for young people. In January, 2021 Luis, my partner and very best friend, died suddenly and although the loss hurts, I am compelled to open SoulPhamm and now dedicate it to his memory. But I need help!

We are looking for creative and service minded adults to join our team as Fraternal Service Coordinators.

SoulPhamm has an adult component called Nu Sigma Theta which functions as a fraternity. It is formed for social and professional networking, but also for community service. The organization currently includes about 25 members who are spread across New York and New Jersey, but we also have a healthy handful of adults from North Carolina, other states and Nigeria.

Your job is to help us develop virtual community service/social action projects for our adults and for the young people of SoulPhamm. You will also help our administrative team plan our annual Soul2Soul event, which is a "Blessing Bag Giveaway". You will meet with the administrative team monthly (generally a 6pm or 7pm EST start for one hour) over Zoom.

You do not have to join Nu Sigma Theta. You do not have to have any fraternity experience or be a member of any Divine 9 or fraternal organization. You should just have a heart for service and an incredible sense of humor. Because you will be planning projects for a group of folks who live in various places across the country, you'll have to be creative in the ways you think about engaging them in virtual projects. Interested candidates should respond with a short note telling us about themselves. You can learn more about SoulPhamm and Coach Luis at www.soulphamm.org. No phone calls please. Thanks for your interest!
