ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

My husband Luis and I created SoulPhamm, a sports and arts program for kids in New York and New Jersey. The goal of SoulPhamm is to create engaging and unique competitive and performing experiences for young people. In January, 2021 Luis, my partner and very best friend, died suddenly and although the loss hurts, I am compelled to open SoulPhamm and now dedicate it to his memory. But I need help!

We are looking for individuals to join our administrative team as public relations coordinators.

As a youth-serving nonprofit that spans across two states, we will likely become involved in the many issues that concern our young people and their families. As public relations coordinators, you will need to get to know the organization and its leaders and then figure out who it is important for them (or volunteers, or parents, or kids) to get to know or to "get in front of" and then prepare us to make that happen.

We also want you to look for opportunities to spotlight various members of our organization (as a way to not only spotlight them for the work that they do, but to also heighten the visibility of our organization). We will work together to develop a plan for how that happens.

You will meet with the administrative team monthly (generally a 6pm or 7pm EST start for one hour) over Zoom. Experience/studies in public relations or a similar role would be very helpful as we need for you to be self-directed. Your work can be done at your own pace, at a schedule you determine for yourself.

Interested candidates should respond with a short note telling us about themselves. You can learn more about SoulPhamm and Coach Luis at www.soulphamm.org. No phone calls please. Thanks for your interest!
