We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to help manager our team of UX/UI Designers, App Developers and Testers to develop our FIRST Mobile APP. You can make this history with us.

The ideal candidate is a well-organized individual who has experience in the software industry, but more importantly, is excited about creating REAL MEANINGFUL IMPACT for communities, parents, and students in disadvantaged areas.

In this role you will attend our 1hr virtual meeting each week to handle the following responsibilities:

  1. Own and manage the SDLC for the team in JIRA
  2. Ensure best practices, processes, and procedures are applied across the team
  3. Help the team decide on platform or technology to use
  4. Work with the team to plan out projects
  5. Promote agile development principles
  6. Join few zoom calls to help interview our leadership and beneficiaries for requirement gathering
  7. Effectively help develop, confirm, and communicate project requirements, tasks, and status
  8. Ensure projects are running efficiently in order to meet deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 3+ years of Software Development or Project Management experience
  2. Experience with mobile app development
  3. Experience with Scrum process, Slack, & JIRA or similar platforms
  4. Experience with BRD or PRD
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Reliable, and can work independently or in a team

Nice to have:

  1. Experience building mobile application teams
  2. AWS experience
  3. Experience in the Education or Charity industry
  4. Experience working with international team members
  5. Experience building scalable APP

Conviction created YesLiberia. Daily the needs of underprivileged are ignored. We ignore their struggles because it’s easier to deal with the more important things in our lives-- like climbing the corporate ladder and saving money so we don’t become indigent. And some of us ignore their challenges because they bring back unpleasant memories we seek to repress. But disregarding the plight of the underprivileged yields no resolution. Then certain things happen to remind us their struggles exist no matter how hard we try to pretend our needs surpass theirs.

Jallah was convicted by several of those things over a short period of time. The prostitution of children in Thailand reminded him of Liberia. The rape and war in Congo reminded him of Liberia. The genocide in Rwanda reminded him of Liberia. He remembered his underprivileged past--a past where he was seen as less than elite based on his tribal and economic status and where his education came as a gift from the United Methodist Church.

Reminded, he became convicted to act and YesLiberia was founded to educate and help underprivileged Liberians whose plight he intimately understood.

YesLiberia is a 501c3 charity organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service since July 2009. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. YesLiberia is also registered at four government agencies in Liberia.
