Location: Rocky River, Ohio, Temporarily Remote due to COVID-19*
Salary Range: Unpaid / For Credit

Work Hours: 10-15 hr/week

because I said I would is a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to the betterment of humanity through promises made and kept. We are changing lives through Promise Cards, chapters of volunteers, character education in schools, and awareness campaigns with global reach. We only hire individuals who can make and keep their promises.
The Nonprofit Operations Intern will work with the Director of Speaking Engagements and/or Director of Marketing and Fundraising as well as senior staff by performing administrative and entry-level duties which may include conducting market research, identifying business opportunities, emailing prospective clients, making cold calls, managing fundraising programs, use Salesforce to update records, and connecting with donors. The intern will also work with the COO, who oversees the intern program.
This is a remote internship and requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship but offers eligibility for credit through your school.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Working closely with the Manager or assigned staff member, and completing all allocated tasks
- Conducting desktop research, gathering information, & list building
- Identify Decision Makers within potential customer organizations
- Identifying potential clients using Social Media and internet research
- Cold calling & emailing potential clients
- Updating documents and internal records using Salesforce
- Building prospect lists to identify new business opportunities
- Create outreach strategies
- Assist in running fundraisers
The intern will attend weekly staff meetings, regularly scheduled meetings with their supervisor, and bi-weekly meetings with other interns for professional development.
