Responsibilities

Catalyst Youth Network seeks an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to join a small but growing team of passionate people committed to building our non-profit to help bring equity and opportunity to disenfranchised youth in Oakland

The Volunteer coordinator will collaborate with the executive leader and other staff playing a critical role in furthering all three pillars of CYN’s work: Youth Development, Training Volunteers, and bringing together a Network of service providers and resources in one centralized place that centers around the youth of Oakland. The Volunteer Manager will help ensure that CYN empowers our volunteers to be effective and well equipped through regular communication with our volunteers, and planning and scheduling volunteer training.

• Work roughly 4 hrs a week .
• Work mostly remotely
• Be available to meet in person a few times a month.
• Directly collaborate with and support executive leaders on volunteer management.
• Check in regularly with volunteers to see if they are in need of any additional support or resources.
• Help volunteers stay on track with their training goals.
• Plan and schedule training events and options for volunteers.
• Manage and input Casework notes for clients, keeping track of progress and on top of what needs are still outstanding.
• Schedule and facilitate regular check in team meetings for volunteers.
• Help measure the performance and or challenges volunteers are having.

Requirements

• Experience in some Casework
• Experience managing databases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly resourceful
• Strong emotional intelligence
• Self-motivation
• Deep commitment to building equity and helping Oakland’s Youth.
