We are seeking compassionate Volunteers to visit our patients at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital to provide a warm presence by providing companionship and socialization to our patients and families. Volunteers will visit patients in their rooms and be a comforting support by being a listening ear, offering a comfort chart which consist of beverages such as water, tea, and coffee, and possibly read to the patients. Sometimes, just knowing they are not along gives comfort. Your presence is a precious gift that you can give to someone who is at an "end of life journey". We are flexible with working around your schedule. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 1 hour a week. Please contact us for more details and be sure to provide your phone number.
