We are seeking compassionate Volunteers to visit our patients at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center to provide a warm presence by providing companionship and socialization to our patients and families. Volunteers will visit patients in their rooms and be a comforting support by being a listening ear, offering to sit with the patient while the family grab a bite to eat, and possibly reading to the patient. Sometimes, just knowing they are not along gives comfort. Your presence is a precious gift that you can give to someone who is at an "end of life journey". We are flexible with working around your schedule. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 1 hour a week. Please contact us for more details and be sure to provide your phone number.
