Restore Hope is a small nonprofit offering a mentorship program for women experiencing homelessness is New York City and Washington, DC. Mentors work one-on-one with a woman, walking with them through their journey while providing practical assistance with things like looking for a job or locating food, shelter, and other resources. Most importantly, mentors provide friendship and encouragement, helping women to build their self-esteem, remember their value, and persevere through difficult challenges.

Women experiencing homelessness are referred to Restore Hope from partner organizations. These organizations also provide services to women and can help determine who may best benefit from a mentoring relationship.

Restore Hope Resource Ambassadors provide a link between Restore Hope and our partner organizations. Resource Ambassadors will be assigned one partner organization to build a relationship with, working with this partner organization to determine the best strategy for informing women they serve about Restore Hope’s program and providing referrals. This will look different for each partner organization but often will involve visiting the partner on a recurring basis during their programming/outreach to get to know the women and share about the mentorship program. Resource Ambassadors will have the flexibility to work creatively with their partner organization to best meet the needs of the women they serve.

Restore Hope is a Christian organization. While we do not force our beliefs on anyone, we are looking for Resource Ambassadors who understand and reflect these values to our partners. Female volunteers are preferred in order to maintain a level of comfort and propriety for the women we serve. Resource Ambassadors should be comfortable with meeting and engaging with new people on a regular basis.

Training will be provided for this position. Resource Ambassadors will have access to marketing materials and additional resources that may be of interest to partner organizations and women they meet.
