Job Description:

Bread of Life International is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization with the mission to address hunger and food insecurity in low-income, poor households, and food-deficit deprived communities across Africa through community outreaches, family food initiatives, school feeding programs, and disaster response.

Bread of Life International seeks Community Engagement and Stakeholder Relations Specialistcandidate who is passionate and committed to using their skills and experience to help alleviate hunger across Africa and to provide general support to the organization, raise awareness of our organization, increase engagement among our supporters, and increase support for our mission.

Position Summary:

· Provides administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling correspondence, checking emails, and following up on job inquiries and inquiries about the organization.

· Builds and maintains relationships and handles communication with partner organizations, donors, and stakeholders.

· Handles logistics, scheduling, and coordination of meetings with potential donors, organizations, and stakeholders.

· Plans and organizes meetings, conferences, and events, handling logistics, scheduling, and coordination to ensure successful events.

· Engages with various organizations and communities to spread awareness and promote Bread of Life International’s mission.

· Responsible for monitoring progress against grant commitments and communicating grant reporting deadlines and coordinating the collection of information needed to meet reporting requirements.

· Supports the grant application process by managing a checklist of application requirements, gathering relevant program details, and assisting with the writing process.

· Supports fundraising campaigns to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

· Supports managing the organization's social media platforms - Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Blogs.

· Assists in email marketing/retargeting/fundraising campaigns using Mailchimp, social media, and other techniques to create awareness and reach out to our supporters.

· Collaborates with Developers: Works closely with the web development team to understand the project's requirements and objectives.

· Reviews Website Implementation: Conducts thorough reviews of the website as it is being developed, ensuring that all features and functionalities meet the specified requirements.

· Identifies Issues and provides feedback: Detects and documents any bugs, errors, or inconsistencies on the website and offers detailed feedback to developers on any issues found, suggesting improvements and solutions.

· Cross-Browser and Cross-Device Testing: Ensures the website functions correctly across different browsers, devices, and operating systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, IT).

· 2-3 years of experience in an administrative, support, or specialist role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.

· Proven experience in handling administrative tasks and providing general support within an organization.

· Experience in event planning and coordination.

· Experience in building and maintaining relationships with partner organizations, donors, and stakeholders.

· Basic knowledge of social media management and content creation.

· Basic understanding of website development processes and QA testing.

· Proficiency in using email marketing tools like Mailchimp.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

· Technical Skills: Basic understanding of website development and QA testing; proficiency in using social media platforms and email marketing tools.

· Analytical Skills: Ability to review, analyze, and provide feedback on website functionalities and identify areas for improvement.

· Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills to engage with partners, donors, and stakeholders.

· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, provide feedback, and suggest improvements.

· Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, especially in administrative tasks, event planning, and grant management.

· Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support board members in achieving organizational goals.

· Passion for Mission: Strong commitment to the mission of addressing hunger and food insecurity in deprived communities across Africa.

Description

250 million people are experiencing hunger in Africa which is nearly 20% of the population. It is projected that the region will be unable to feed 60 percent of population by 2025.

As you might imagine, hunger is a problem that most often affects orphaned and vulnerable children living in extreme poverty, low-income families, homeless and street children, the needy, the poor, the widow and vulnerable people.

Immediate Solutions - we support and safely provide food to the most vulnerable children and people that are hungry and hurting through various programs such as: Community Event outreach, Family Food outreach, mobile food outreach, and disaster response and relief

Long-term Solutions - we work with partners, governmental agencies, and institutions to find long-term solutions to eliminate hunger. This includes the following, but not limited to investing more in the agriculture sector, expanding agricultural financing and non-bank small and medium-enterprise finance and capacity-building and increase in women -owned agriculture and agribusiness enterprises and so on.
