Community Alliance Pact, Inc. (informally "CAP") is a 501c3 registered Nonprofit Organization in Dallas, TX founded by Juan'Kimla Robinson and her distinguished Board of Directors. CAP's purpose is to make effort to redevelop disadvantaged communities by cultivating and enlightening the residents with financial and business literacy. This easily accessible knowledge will be taught by REAL Financial Literacy Specialists at seminars and will help the targeted neighborhoods to flourish and grow by closing economic disparities. We also provide charitable assistance to the same individuals in the form of scholarships, grants, clothes and food drives, etc.

We are currently in search of an Innovative, Self-Starting, and Motivated Board Member!

Board Members are responsible for strategic planning, policy development, governance and all fiduciary matters pertaining to CAP’s and ensuring that structures and procedures are in place for effective and ethical operation of the organization in the fulfillment of its mission.

This board position report to the Board of Directors and is a volunteer position.

Essential Functions

  • Attend and participate in meetings of the Board of Directors
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans
  • Formulate, review and oversee policies and procedures that govern the organization
  • Actively participate on ad hoc and standing committees of the Board of Directors
  • Participate in developing, approving and maintaining awareness of the annual budget
  • Support and participate in CAP activities
  • Maintain awareness of all events and activities
  • Recommend revisions to board policies and bylaws
  • Participate in an annual board self-assessment
  • Adhere to all CAP policies and procedures, i.e., Conflict of Interest, Confidentially, Ethics, etc.
  • Maintain awareness and ensure adherence to the Bylaws
  • Provide input for the Executive Director’s performance evaluation
  • Promote CAP and its mission
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with other non-profit organizations, the community and funders
  • Ensure effective communication with CAP staff, volunteers and the Dallas community
  • Identify potential donors and introduce them to the Executive Director
  • Volunteer and represent CAP at events

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of CAP ByLaws
  • Knowledge of CAP financial, legal and public responsibilities
  • Knowledge of parliamentary procedure
  • Knowledge of CAP programs and mission
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with CAP staff, volunteers and Dallas community

Experience

  • Prefer prior nonprofit Board of Directors experience

Our goal is to collaterally close economic disparities by creating more successful individuals.

Description

Community Alliance Pact, Inc. (CAP) was founded by President Juan'Kimla Robinson. She believes that by making financial literacy skills easily accessible, she will create more successful individuals that will pour back into the development of their communities. The programs that will be offered will be in a seminar format and will all be on financial literacy topics. Her vision is to not only teach people how to get financially fit, but to also teach them how to remain financially fit. Here are some examples of the programs CAP will offer:

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 21
  • Be available for up to 4 virtual meetings per month. Meetings are flexible and are scheduled around all Board Members availability. Check Microsoft Teams and Office at least once per night to read any/all updates.
