Food Pantry N95 donation
Food Pantry North Beach Citizens Donation

Help us refurbish N95s for donation to vulnerable populations. We have been donating these to homeless and family shelters, schools, food banks, and other community organizations.

The N95 is the best mask for Covid-19 protection. These Kimberly Clark masks came from the national stockpile. We replace the expired rubber bands with elastic so these masks can be re-worn multiple times. The populations we donate these to are desperate for masks.

You can refurbish these from your home. All you need is a hole punch. We deliver kits and pick-up for donations.

This activity is perfect for youth or adult community groups such as boy or girl scout groups or church groups. We can sign off on community service hours.

If you can sew, we also have a huge need for sewists for fabric face masks. We are currently sewing children's masks for ages 2-8 years of age. We provide kits including pre-cut fabric, elastic and nose guards.

Mission Statement

It Takes A Village is an inclusive community of volunteers that create and deliver PPE into the hands of communities in need throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Description

It Takes A Village was founded in March 2020 during the Pandemic. To date, It Takes A Village has made and donated over 56,000 fabric face masks, 53,000 face shields and over 92,000 refurbished N95s totaling over 201,000 pieces of PPE for the medically underserved vulnerable populations of the Greater Bay Area. Our donations have been made primarily to safety net hospitals, federally qualified community health centers, homeless and family shelters and food banks. Our donations have reached over 125 different organizations extending in geographical area to SF, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. We have also reached communities in the Central Valley including Salinas, Watsonville, Sacramento, Bakersfield, Fresno, and Madera.

Our work is done remotely in your home. We have drivers in the SF Bay Area available for pick up and delivery.

We are in particular need of SEWISTS. We provide complete sewing kits, but would accept any made fabric masks. Many of our donations are targeted to families and children in vulnerable communities. The vulnerable populations are still in heavy need of fabric masks. Please reach us at www.-it-takes-village.org to volunteer to SEW!

We are 100% volunteers and 100% of all donations go towards purchasing more materials for masks.
