The City of Davis and CommuniCare have formed an innovative partnership to open the Davis Respite Center - a safe space where the unhoused population of Davis can go for essential services like laundry, bathroom/showers, computer access, access to Case Managers who can link them to local services and more.
Respite Center Volunteers begin by offering general support to Respite Center Staff with tasks such as answering the door, monitoring laundry and shower facilities, assisting clients access Respite Center resources and other tasks that support CommuniCare’s mission and the purpose of the Respite Center. Once volunteers have had a chance to become familiar with the resources offered, volunteers will have the opportunity to begin more specialized volunteer roles possibly taking the lead in organizing and coordinating clothing closet distributions, coordinating intake and distribution of food donations, supporting the monthly vet clinics, or working with Respite Center staff to identify and address unmet needs of Respite Center and the clients we serve.

Description
Established in 2023, CommuniCare+OLE is a union of two health centers with deep roots in their respective communities with reputations for providing high-quality primary care to patients and clients.: OLE Health of Napa and Solano Counties, and CommuniCare Health Centers of Yolo County.
Building on a legacy established by each organization in 1972, CommuniCare+OLE is a network of federally qualified health centers with 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties. It offers comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and substance use treatment, nutrition, optometry, pharmacy, care coordination, referrals, and enrollment assistance to more than 70,000 individuals, and no one is turned away due to lack of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. Many services are offered outside of its sites, including mobile health, home visiting, and community and school-based programs.
In October 2023, OLE Health of Napa and Solano and CommuniCare Health Centers of Yolo County announced a legally executed merger between the two organizations and unveiled their new brand: CommuniCare OLE. As a critical part of the healthcare safety net, CommuniCare OLE ensures care for everyone, regardless of ability to pay or insurance status.
CommuniCare+OLE’s services include Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Substance Use Services, Perinatal Care, Dental Care, Pediatrics, Sexual Health, Women’s Health, LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care, Diabetes Education and Food and Nutrition services.
