Can you help with delivering, packing and/or purchasing groceries for seniors in need?
S.U.C.C.E.S.S., as one of the Better at Home COVID-19 Response Hubs, is now recruiting volunteers to support seniors located in the Vancouver (Chinatown, Strathcona, Downtown, East Vancouver)
Volunteers are reimbursed for their mileage and parking.
GROCERY DELIVERY
If you have a vehicle and are willing to help get food to seniors, this is the job for you. Volunteers are asked to pick up groceries from a designated store and deliver to seniors.
Time commitment:
2-3 hours on Monday afternoons or Friday mornings
It is preferred that you can commit every week, but not required. Volunteers are invited to join a WhatsApp group where a call for help is issued weekly.
GROCERIES PACKING HELPER
We are looking for 1 volunteer who can help pack weekly produce bags for senior households.
Time committment:
11:30 AM - 2:00 PM on Monday mornings
It is preferred that you can commit every week, but not required. Volunteers are invited to join a WhatsApp group where a call for help is issued weekly.
GROCERY SHOPPING HELPER
We are looking for volunteers willing to shop for seniors during this difficult time. Volunteers are asked to take his/her clients' order list, shop and deliver for them.
Time Expected: 2-3 hours once per week, flexible schedule
For this role: a regular weekly - bi-weekly regular schedule is needed as you are paired with 1-2 seniors
