The Volunteer Coordinator will follow up with all interested potential volunteers to establish which role they would fit best in. We are interested in finding volunteers that want to be trained as facilitators, presenters, and teachers for our NAMI signature programs. We also have several other volunteer positions that need to be filled. All potential leads provided. There is no lead generation required at this time simply follow up with interested people. NAMI OW is an organization dedicated to providing support, advocacy and education for persons with mental illness and their families. We advocate for better quality care, rights and interests of citizens with mental illness and promotes programs and resources directed to medical research, housing, social and vocational rehabilitation and employment. Elimination of the stigmatization attached to mental illness is essential to achieving these goals. Mental illness should not be an obstacle to a full and meaningful life.

Description

NAMI Okaloosa Walton (aka NAMI Emerald Coast) is a nonprofit organization affiliated with NAMI Florida and NAMI National. The Emerald Coast affiliate seeks to provide support to the families and friends of the mentally ill; to promote the education of its members and the community about mental illness; to advocate for the rights of, and better services for, the mentally ill; and to foster research to find the causes and a cure for mental illness.
