Volunteers are the heart of the USO! Join our team of over 30,000 volunteers and support local military service members and their families in your community.
We are opening a USO center at Pittsburgh International Airport very soon! We're seeking friendly, outgoing, compassionate and patriotic volunteers to staff our center seven days a week, initially from 8AM to 8PM. Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of one recurring shift per month, such as every other Tuesday or every Friday. Shifts are four hours long either from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, or from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Hours could change slightly as we grow our volunteer team.
Most Americans who see USO centers pass them at major airports across the country. As a USO volunteer, you will provide a home away from home for service members (and often their families too) traveling to or from training or deployments or for some rest and relaxation.
To learn more, contact Christine Ree, Liberty USO Western PA Operations Manager, at email@example.com or 412-427-4753. Or, you can start the application process by visiting https://volunteers.uso.org/?nd=intake&entry_point_id=501&unit_id=77&chapter_id=506. Learn more about Liberty USO at www.libertyuso.org.
Our volunteers are the reason service members know they can count on the USO. Become a Force Behind the Forces(r) today!
Please note that this volunteer opportunity is located within the secure area of the airport. You must pass a background check and the fee is at your own expense.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About USO of PA and Southern NJ
2475 Defense Avenue, Moon Township, PA 15108, US
The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.
Since 1941, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.
Today’s USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.
USO airport centers throughout the country offer around-the clock hospitality for traveling service members and their families. Our trademark USO tours bring America and its celebrities to service members who are assigned far from home, to entertain them and convey the support of the nation. And our many specialized programs offer a continuum of support to service members throughout their journey of service, from the first time they don the uniform until the last time they take it off.
The USO is not part of the federal government. A Congressionally-chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of connection.
