Are you passionate about community-building with a social justice and racial equity lens on? We are seeking volunteers to help build a more diverse and inclusive community through supporting B.R.A.V.E.’s mission, programs, and community events. Volunteer opportunities for people that are comfortable leading small group discussions and want to LISTEN, learn, and connect with the community. Training is available for facilitators.

BRAVE Communities hosts regular free community dialogues. The first week of the month, we typically host a panel discussion with subject matter experts on a specific subject. Then, the third week of the month we have a more intimate discussion with community members to talk and share what's on their heart and mind. We center the conversations around listening and hearing from marginalized voices first (Black, Indigenous, People of Color, women, young people, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+). Through dialogue, we continue to Build Relationships Awareness Voices and Engagement (BRAVE).

Due to COVID, we are hosting our events virtually, so you do not need to be in Austin...a silver lining of this pandemic and technology is that we can be connected and build community even from a distance.

B uild R elationships A wareness V oices and E ngagement (BRAVE) programs and events seek to engage community members around questions of access and inclusion, and empower participants to become agents of change, on a local and global level. We encourage intercultural and intergenerational relationships by offering a variety of programs and services - BRAVE Ambassadors, BRAVE Makers, BRAVE Communities Conversations, Community Nourishment, and Global Social Impact.

Our ecosystem of service -- empowering the next generation of leaders to engage with and serve their communities now -- has the power to transform our communities, help to disrupt the cycle of poverty, by raising awareness of the insidious impacts of systemic racism and unequal opportunity and access.
